Today I want to share my gratitude for our First Responders.
This morning as I was on my way to the gym, I found myself in an unexpected detour. The road had been closed off due to a serious accident as the police were just arriving on the scene to secure the area.
I could feel the adrenaline radiating from the officer who had just arrived, and the sirens of all of the support vehicles as they whipped past. In that moment, I couldn't help but think about the weight of their job, often under intense pressure, with little recognition or appreciation.
While I was naturally concerned for those involved in the accident, my heart also went out to the men and women who were rushing to help. It was a powerful reminder of the huge responsibility that First Responders carry, and the courage it takes to answer the call in moments of crisis.
My brother and niece are both Police Officers in Utah. Over the years, I’ve heard from them about the realities of the job. It's far from glamorous. It's often thankless, stressful, and even dangerous. But it's a job that requires heart, compassion, and a deep sense of duty, for them: a calling.
Today, I want to take a moment to say thank you to all the First Responders out there who risk their lives to keep us safe. You may not always hear it, but know that your work matters. Today, I send love, gratitude, and respect to you. If you feel it, please take a minute to acknowledge those who serve our communities. A simple thank-you, a kind word, or even a moment of sending love can go a long way in making their incredibly hard job just a little bit lighter.
To my brother, my niece, and all the officers, paramedics, firefighters, and EMTs out there—thank you for everything you do. You are the unsung heroes who keep our communities running.
My beautiful niece Logan
