Music. I am forever grateful for every single kind of music. I could write a post about music every single day for a year and not run out of words, so this will be challenging, but I’ll try to keep this post concise. Earlier in the month, I wrote about memories evoked from music, but this post is specifically about MUSIC.

I think my heart beats to a melody. I constantly have music playing around me - all kinds of music. I love how a song can change my mood or make emotions to bubble up to the surface. Sometimes, I feel songs so deeply I can’t help but cry with pure, raw emotion. Music also creates connections for me. Someone’s music taste helps me to understand them on a different level - it's my own sort of “filing system”. Like you won’t likely meet a Dead-head that also gets down to Death Cab For Cutie - BUT that same Dead-head probably DOES appreciate John Coltrane and Bach. And I GET that!

I'm awed by the way songwriters and musicians can express their creativity with the beauty of sounds. Combining notes in every way possible while weaving lyrics - poetry really - through the structure they create. It’s a skill I wish I had! Maybe in my next life. Meanwhile, I’ll satisfy my musical hunger by going to shows, discovering new artists and keeping the tunes spinning through my head and heart.

Below are some songs that are on today's playlist
